Choosing the Right Trailer

10. How do I know which trailer is right for me?

Choosing a trailer depends on what you intend to haul, the total expected weight, trailer dimensions, towing vehicle, hitch configuration, axle rating, GVWR and other requirements.

Trailer World organizes inventory by trailer type, size, construction, capacity and intended use to make comparing different configurations easier.

11. What does GVWR mean?

GVWR means Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. It represents the maximum allowable loaded weight of the trailer as specified for that trailer. This includes the trailer itself and its cargo.

12. What is trailer load capacity?

Load capacity generally refers to the amount of cargo weight a trailer is designed to carry within its applicable ratings. Buyers should consider the trailer’s empty weight, GVWR, axle ratings and manufacturer specifications before loading.

13. Should I choose a bumper-pull or gooseneck trailer?

The appropriate configuration depends on your towing vehicle, cargo and hauling requirements. Gooseneck trailers are commonly used for larger and heavier hauling applications, while bumper-pull configurations can be practical for many everyday and commercial uses.

Always confirm that your tow vehicle, hitch and towing equipment are properly rated for the trailer and expected load.

Trailer Features & Specifications

14. Where can I find specifications for a trailer?

Individual product pages on TrailerWorld.net provide available specifications and product information. Depending on the trailer, this may include dimensions, GVWR, empty weight, load capacity, axle configuration, ramps, gates, tires, coupler type, deck information and other equipment.

15. Do all trailers have the same features?

No. Features vary significantly by manufacturer, model and configuration. For example, trailers may use ladder ramps, slide-out ramps, mega ramps, landscape ramps, powered tilt decks or full-tilt decks.

Always review the individual trailer listing rather than assuming that two similar-looking trailers have identical specifications.

16. Are product photos the exact trailer being sold?

Customers should review each individual product listing carefully. Where questions exist regarding colors, equipment, specifications or whether a photo represents the exact unit, contact Trailer World for confirmation before purchasing.

Pricing & Purchasing

17. How much do your trailers cost?

Trailer pricing varies according to manufacturer, model, size, construction, GVWR, axle configuration, equipment and optional features.

Please review our current online inventory for available trailer pricing.

18. Can trailer prices change?

Yes. Trailer pricing and availability may change as inventory, manufacturer pricing, configurations and market conditions change. The applicable purchase documents should be reviewed before completing an order.

19. What should I check before purchasing a trailer?

Before purchasing, we recommend confirming:

  • Trailer make and model
  • Dimensions
  • GVWR
  • Empty weight
  • Load capacity
  • Axle configuration
  • Coupler or hitch requirements
  • Ramp or gate configuration
  • Intended cargo
  • Your tow vehicle’s capabilities
  • Pickup or delivery requirements

Trailer Financing

20. Does Trailer World offer financing?

Financing options may be available for eligible trailer purchases. Financing terms can depend on the purchase arrangement and applicable agreement. Customers interested in financing should review the financing information provided by Trailer World before committing to a purchase.

21. Can I finance instead of paying the full trailer price at once?

Where an applicable financing option is available, customers may be able to purchase a trailer using an approved payment arrangement instead of paying the entire purchase price at once.

The applicable financing terms should always be reviewed before signing or making a payment.

22. Can I pick up my trailer?

Yes. Customers may arrange to pick up eligible trailer purchases from Trailer World in California City, California.

23. Is local pickup free?

Yes. Local trailer pickup is free. Customers who choose pickup do not pay a trailer delivery charge for transportation to another destination.

25. Does Trailer World deliver trailers?

Our goal is to make purchasing a trailer convenient whether the customer is local or located elsewhere in the United States.

26. Do you deliver throughout the United States?

Yes. Trailer World offers nationwide trailer delivery throughout the United States, subject to the applicable delivery arrangement and destination.

27. Do you deliver trailers to Canada?

Delivery to Canada may be available depending on the trailer, destination, transportation availability and applicable border requirements.

Canadian deliveries may involve additional documentation, customs procedures, taxes, duties, brokerage charges or other import requirements. Customers should confirm the applicable arrangements before purchasing.

28. How long does trailer delivery take?

Delivery times depend on the trailer’s location, customer destination, transportation availability and other logistical factors. Customers should refer to their applicable delivery arrangement for the estimated dispatch and delivery timeframe.

29. How do you make sure my trailer is delivered safely?

Trailer World takes delivery seriously. We work to ensure the correct trailer is prepared for transportation and that delivery arrangements are coordinated to get the trailer safely to the agreed destination.

30. What should I do when my trailer arrives?

Inspect the trailer at delivery whenever practical. Confirm that the correct trailer has arrived and check for visible transportation damage before signing final delivery paperwork.

If you notice visible damage, photograph it, notify the driver when possible, note the damage on applicable delivery paperwork and contact Trailer World as soon as reasonably possible.

Returns & Refunds

31. Can I return a trailer?

Eligible trailer returns may be requested within 14 calendar days of delivery or pickup, subject to the Trailer World Return and Refund Policy. All returns require authorization before a trailer is transported back.

32. How long do I have to return an approved trailer?

After return authorization is provided, an approved trailer should generally be returned or approved transportation arranged within 10 business days, unless Trailer World provides a different timeframe in writing.

33. Who pays for return transportation?

If a customer returns a trailer because they changed their mind, selected the wrong trailer or no longer need it, the customer is generally responsible for return transportation.

When an eligible return results from the wrong trailer being delivered, a substantial difference from the trailer ordered, or another qualifying Trailer World error, Trailer World will generally arrange or cover reasonable return transportation.

34. How long does a trailer refund take?

For an approved return, eligible refunds are generally issued within 5 to 10 business days after the trailer has been returned and successfully inspected.

Banks, card companies and payment providers may require additional time to post the refund after Trailer World issues it.

35. Are delivery charges refundable?

Original delivery charges are generally not refundable when a customer simply changes their mind, chooses the wrong trailer or no longer wants the trailer. Different treatment may apply when an eligible return results from a qualifying Trailer World error or where otherwise required by law.

Warranty & Trailer Problems

36. What if my trailer has a manufacturer defect?

A possible manufacturer defect does not necessarily require the trailer to be returned. Depending on the issue, it may be handled through inspection, repair, replacement parts or the applicable manufacturer’s warranty process.

37. Are trailer warranties the same for every manufacturer?

No. Warranty terms can vary by manufacturer, trailer model, component and type of issue. Customers should review the applicable warranty documentation for their particular trailer.

38. What if I receive the wrong trailer?

Contact Trailer World promptly and do not arrange an unauthorized return. We will review the order and trailer information and provide instructions for resolving the issue.

Trailer Safety & Ownership

39. How do I know whether my vehicle can tow a trailer?

Check the towing specifications provided by your vehicle manufacturer and verify the ratings of your hitch, towing equipment and trailer.

Trailer World product information should not replace the towing limitations established by the manufacturer of your vehicle or towing equipment.

40. Can I load a trailer up to any weight I want?

No. Never exceed the trailer’s applicable GVWR, axle ratings, tire ratings, coupler ratings or other manufacturer-established limitations.

Cargo should also be properly positioned and secured before transportation.

41. What maintenance does a trailer need?

Maintenance requirements vary, but owners should routinely inspect tires, wheels, lug nuts, brakes, bearings, lights, wiring, couplers, safety chains, suspension, ramps, gates, hydraulic equipment and other components applicable to their trailer.

Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions for your specific trailer.
